Well this feels new

Hello everyone.

I hope you are all well and actually still looking at the site.

Finally I’ve had to accept the my lovely old 1100 has to go and so I am collecting a 1300 tomorrow...can anyone let me know where I might be able to get a pdf version of the users manual? I know there used to be some on various sites, but my quick searches aren’t bringing anything up.

As ever I am hugely in your debt for any advice or guidance.

I’m a very happy boy so far, the bike is very smooth and sooo quiet.

To be honest I haven’t had a problem with the 1100, so I haven’t needed to please for help.

I picked up the bike last Friday and did 200 miles in very high winds...which was a joy. The only thing I’ve found that I really need to sort is the windscreen which is at its lowest point. I don’t think it’s broken, I suspect it’s the relays. I’ve just been too lazy/unwilling to take the Tupperware off to investigate. There is no sound from the motor so I’m assuming relays or switch, rather than motor. The fuse is fine.

I’m now two weeks in and I love this bike. It’s sooooo smooth and for me much more comfortable that the 1100. I have a typical Scots long body and wee short legs, so a more upright...I like to think magisterial, riding position suits me best. I contacted the dealer who said that any other bikes he’d bought from the same source had had the main windscreen relay removed. £10 from my local dealer and everything is just perfect.

I do have a question though, does anyone know of a sensible route round the tank to run wiring? At the moment the sat-nag power cables just under the tank cover.

The only gripe I’ve had is that the fuel consumption is nowhere near as good as I’d hoped. I only got 200 miles from the first full tank, although I did 90 miles into and out of London yesterday and only used 3 sections of fuel, so I suppose it’s improving. Maybe my riding style was uncharacteristically enthusiastic.

I installed the OEM quartet harness and DC power socket and hooked the GPS wiring into that.

The DC socket only came with a 2amp fuse which is ok for a phone but not much else. Blew the fuse when I put the compressor on to do the tyre pressures so I need to get a 10 amp fuse for it.

One of our other members added some driving light wiring via the left side of the bike http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=11257 ... msg1207545 which might give you an idea or two.

With the fuel I noticed on mine that from a full tank the indication would drop a bar every 60km (37 miles) on average. Over 6000km I've averaged 18.7k/l (see in signature below) or about UK 53mpg but then I ride mostly on country/rural roads and hardly any stop/go city traffic of which I only do every three or four months.
