Don't tempt me...

All sounds nice, whilst I'd opt for B&B/moderate priced hotel.

Good thinking Mr Mallon to kick this off.

I think it would be good to stretch our horizons a little. We've done some great places around the UK. May/ June. Belgium/ France. Hotel/ but prepared to camp. There were some nice roads going to Bastogne a few years back.

Would like (one day) to get into Germany and then onto the Alps.

G.

Belgium/Germany/Netherlands/France, June, hotel.

Would be great if Martin could join us this time!

Indeed...

But even if its held in the farthermost north-west corner of Scotland... I'll make it happen, somehow...

it's only a mere 2600km so 4 days on the road... :potstir:

The journey is the destination... 8-)
Besides that I'd definitely avoid squaring off a perfectly good rear tyre while crossing those boring Klingon planes, instead I'd take the overnight car-train from Vienna to Altona/Hamburg arriving at 0800hrs there, have a brief, relaxed 5 hour ride to IJmuiden to board the oh so comfy overnight DFDS at 1600hrs, conquering the shores in Newcastle at 0900 AM the next morning as a well rested, well fed, happy cat... ;)

I think the most popular choice is going to be Europe. It has been suggested to me a few times after our wet time in Ghent and Ypres in September 2010 http://www.hotsunsets.com/BritSToc%2010point5/index.html

Perhaps the same location and a PreSToc/PostSToc to further afield would be a most excellent trip
